VELOX Semiconductor is a spin off from EMCORE Corporation. VELOX excels in high-volume, cost-effective manufacturing of Gallium Nitride (GaN) transistors and diodes. EMCORE has experience successfully spinning off GaN technology. In 1999, Emcore spun off its GaN LED technology for solid state lighting to form GELcore, a Joint Venture with General Electric Lighting. Today GELcore is a leading manufacturer of solid state lighting products and is a profitable $80 Million company. VELOX intends to repeat GELcore’s success in the power market.
